Above ground platforms, festival style, shaded

We host tent camping at a unique location on the Dan River. Our tent sites are on a grassy lawn that is shaded and cool most of the day. Our hillside sites are deck-like wooden camping platforms nestled in the rhododendron and mountain laurel.

Amenities

• We have fire pits and a supply of firewood for your use. Please do not bring your own firewood, due to potentential hitchhiking invasive species!

• Picnic tables, grills, a sink and a few electrical outlets are available. Our outlets are shared and intended for quick things like a recharge or inflating a mattress…not running your home away from home.

• We’ve also got yard games like horse shoes, bocce ball and washers.

Comfortable tubes on a fun but approachable cool water run

For our basic tubing run, you don't even need to shuttle, just bring your river shoes and sunscreen. We don't have a school bus and we don't rent cooler tubes, so things tend to be more peaceful here.

Easy access at the bridge or dam, no charge, donations welcome

Jessup Mill is at the Eastern end of NC Wildlife Commission stocked trout waters. We also raise and release or own trout under NC permits. We appreciate a catch and release and leave no trace attitude on these clean mountain waters with free access from private property.

Flat to hilly  trails are available for walking & running among the Dan River on the Hill Farm game lands. 

Americana, Bluegrass, Workshops, Performance and cultural events

A long tradition of music, craft and kinship breathes deeply in the ridges and valleys of the Dan River, Mountains and Foothills. In addition to our events, Jessup Mill invites others to host family, church and school groups along with reunion, birthday, anniversary, wedding and engagement celebrations.
